Recently, we caught up with owner Jayd Linney of franchise Nailco to discuss how she aims to help beauty businesses thrive throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Where do you work and what do you do?
Hello! I’m Jayd and I own several businesses in a few different industries. But today, I want to talk to you about my most recent venture ‘The Beautyco Club’ and the personal Business Mentoring services I’m offering within the club!
What is The Beautyco Club?
The Beautyco Club is a free online business support community, created for anyone who owns / runs, is thinking about owning / running a business. The Beautyco Club is designed to share knowledge between club members and provide motivation, guidance and comfort to those on their business journey, no matter what stage they are at in their career.
What services do you offer?
Members of our free Facebook group can expect regular live videos and Q&A’s with me, as well as a range of other industry experts and professionals sharing knowledge on a variety of topics from social media to product creation.
For those who are ‘serious’ about making an impact within their businesses fast, I also offer the additional paid service of Business Mentoring packages. The packages are designed to suit businesses of all types and include Business Analysis packages and One-to-One mentoring in targeted areas. I confidently guarantee that putting into practice the methods and techniques I suggest within our mentoring sessions will positively impact your business almost immediately!

What is your favourite area of business to mentor clients on?
I absolutely LOVE all things ‘Branding!’ I am a very visual person and creating / developing branding is such an exciting thing for me. I feel it gives me the opportunity to really use my imagination and ‘create!’ For me, there is nothing more gratifying than taking an idea and giving it an identity. I could do it day in day out. I also really love the moment where a client really and truly starts to understand the power that branding has, and watching them use that to grow and develop their business is an amazing feeling!
How can people get involved with The Beautyco Club?

Do you have any exciting events planned for The Beautyco Club?
I do! On 29th November I have been invited to be a guest speaker at Aberdeen’s First Business Bootcamp.
I will be alongside some amazing guests and will be talking to attendees about my favourite topic… you guessed it, Branding!
I was delighted to be involved in this event and its something very exciting for The Beautyco Club and me personally. I hope to see you there! Tickets are available to purchase here.
What are your long-term plans for The Beautyco Club?
I have so many amazing things planned! My end goal is to make my website a one stop shop for anyone interesting in starting, growing or progressing their business! I also intend to make sure it is accessible for all people and all budgets, so there will be a variety of options for people depending on their circumstances.
Expect downloadable templates, plans, and documents, mini you-tube tutorials, a dedicated Spotify account with music for every ‘mood’, branded stationary and merchandise, the list and ideas go on and on and I am so excited to bring these to life!
Who is your inspiration?
The answer maybe isn’t one you would expect… Conor Mcgregor! I absolutely love him and have followed his journey from the beginning. I have never come across someone who has such an unshakable belief in themselves and their abilities, and such a clear vision for their future! I also really like that his journey hasn’t necessarily been a perfect one, I find that even more relatable and inspiring! For anyone who doesn’t know much about him, there’s a fab short film about him available on Netflix called Conor McGregor: Notorious and I challenge anyone to watch it and not feel like they can take on the world!
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting their own business?
Join The Beautyco Club to create a network for yourself of like-minded individuals who can and will help you on your journey! If I could turn back time to 2011 when I started my first business, the one thing I’d do differently is ask for more help from people with experience. It doesn’t mean you ‘aren’t capable’ it means you’re savvy! And trust me, asking for help from others will save you more time and money than anything else!
